Since 1990 we have competed primarily in the Wearside League (Step 7/National Feeder League). Between 2011 – 2015 we competed in the local ‘Cumberland County League’ but returned to the Wearside League in 2016 looking to challenge ourselves at the highest possible level.
The Wearside League is made up of teams from the the North East, which makes the challenge for us (given our West Cumbrian location) an even tougher one, but also one that we welcome. The furthest we travel is to Hartlepool, approximately 258 miles round trip and over the season we travel roughly 4000 miles in total! Of course this also plays in our favour when visiting teams make the trip to us at the Falcon Complex!
The squad is made up of local lads many of which have played for the club since their youth football days. We’re lucky to have a thriving youth section and the number 1 objective is for us to see as many players as possible from our Youth and Reserve teams make it through to the First Team. We’re always looking to improve and build on what we’ve got and we welcome the opportunity to work with players from elsewhere too.
